The Bombaytees is a brand that stands for everything today’s youth believes in. Our language is bright, bold, young, and fresh. We love ideas that are relatable and light-hearted. The following are a few characteristics we look for in our designs-relatability, humour, wit, positivity, fun, young, fresh, original, happy, joyful, and bright. An idea/ thought that fits the brand is more likely to be accepted. However, we’re always open to anything an artist can come up with, so we encourage you to send us your ideas and we will consider it.
The Bombaytees is a brand that encourages original ideas, and supports passionate artists. We do not accept content that infringes a third party’s copyright in any manner.
Artwork We Accept
- Artwork base on an original idea you might have had
- Spoofs/ Parody –An artwork falls under spoof or parody, in the eyes of the law, when the new work calls to mind the original work (the original author’s design or trademark) and criticises or ridicules the message of that original work. This is permitted by law, in some circumstances, and falls under fair use.However, this is a fairly complicated area of law, and it’s always best to consult your lawyer buddy when in doubt.
Artwork We Don’t Accept
- Google images
- Artwork created by another artist
- A copy of artwork created by someone else (Inspired styles should have not more than 5% of the visuals taken from the inspiration, and should be 100% different in idea and concept. In case the original artist requires, your artwork may be taken off immediately, without notice.)
- Designs for our Official Merchandise section
- Artwork that is offensive/ insensitive, or mocks race, religion, creed, politics, etc.
Here’s a list of themes/ ideas you can refer to while making your design. These themes are just to guide you in case you’re unsure on how or where to begin. You’re always free to think outside the box, and surprise us with something completely different.

At Bombaytees we provide a marketplace for you to sell your artwork to people from all over the world who love and appreciate your creativity. We produce, fulfill and ship all of your custom products while you maintain the rights to your work. Once approved, we’ll offer you a storefront to sell your custom t-shirts, hoodies, art prints, mugs and more.
And we’ll be paying you upto 30% Royalty Commission on your designed product sold. You can manage all your reports in your Bombaytees Store dashboard. Join our community of artist and start selling your designs today.

I want my art to go on your products. How do I go about this?
We have product customizer tool and using which you can customize any product with your art. you can upload high resolution image in png or jpg format.
What if my art isn’t in digital form but I still want it to go on products?
If your artwork isn’t in digital form, you can take a high resolution photo or scan the image- get the help of that photographer friend of yours. He/ she will be able to guide you with the lighting, centering, and related stuff. The final print of your work will depend on the quality of the photograph or scanned image.
How do I promote my artwork?
Tell people! Get the word out, share your work on Facebook, tweet about it and pin it. We will also regularly promote any new design you come up with on our social media channels. You can also share individual products on your social media channels, using the buttons provided on every product page.
Can I sell these designs on other sites as well? Or will be the designs be exclusive to The Bombaytees?
Your designs, your babies. You have complete freedom to sell your artwork on any other platform/ channel. However, if the theme/ concept for the design has been provided by us, and you’ve created art around that idea, then sale of those designs shall be restricted to the Bombaytees.
Can I offer discount to my buyers?
Currently we are not providing such facility but in near future we will start this service.
How can I withdraw my earnings?
You can easily withdraw your earnings any time by simply submitting your withdrawal request from your artist dashboard.
Note: We will transfer your withdrawal amount to your bank account, and it may takes 5 to 7 days to reflect in your bank account.
